Configuring DNS Settings
DNS means Domain Name Service and, by default, Flter will automatically switch each connected device to Flter’s DNS. If you prefer not to use Flter’s DNS, you must manually configure the DNS settings on each device that is connected to Flter.
Mac DNS Issue
On MAC, you can double-check your DNS settings by going into System Preferences, selecting Network, and then going into the Advanced Network Settings and DNS.
Go to System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> DNS
- If you don't see 192.168.8.1 in the DNS Servers box while connected to Flter (as depicted in the image above), then follow these steps:
- Select 184.108.40.206
- Click the minus symbol below the DNS Servers Window (on the lower left-hand side of the screen)
- click “OK,”
- click “Apply.”
Following these steps should automatically add Flter's DNS.
